ELDRITCH LIGHT ORCHESTRA - To Sail A Paper Boat

A little piece I composed as a closing theme for a podcast on Stephen King's It. Just piano, a soft synth and rain sounds. If the melody sounds familiar, that's because it's a deconstruction of Beethoven's Für Elise, which in the original novel is the tune Georgie Denbrough's mother is playing as he goes out to play with his new paper boat...

COMMENTARY CLUB 14 - The Running Man

It's cult film time again, and this time we are back to the 1980s for a slice of Arnie sci-fi action! Yes it's The Running Man, directed by Paul Michael Glaser - Starsky himself - and loosely based on the Richard Bachman novel, which itself was really a Stephen King novel. Bad impersonations and some very bad language ensues...

Inktober 2018 - Week 4

Day 22 - "Expensive" - another tricky prompt word... so I did a silly one as it was a Monday...

Day 23 - "Muddy" - This prompt word I took as a style cue, and hence captured this entity that appeared the other evening in my scrying glass...

Day 24 - "Chop" -  I went for one of the great chops in horror cinema - Peter Cushing's beheading of Ingrid Pitt at the finale of Hammer's The Vampire Lovers

Day 25 - "Prickly" -  After assorted monsters, violence and weirdness, I thought it was time for a nice picture, so here's a little hedgehog!

Day 26 - "Stretch" - After some consideration, and wanting to avoid joining the inevitable flood of Reed Richards/Plastic Man/Armstrong pics, I went for a portrait of one of Britain's most notorious criminals, who did many a stretch in stir...

Day 27 - "Thunder" -  for this one, I went for a genuine Thor's hammer amulet found in Skåne, Sweden

Day 28 - "Gift" - for this one I decided to do the original girl with all the gifts - Carrie White

THE BLACK DOG VS CREEPSHOW

In this weeks episode Lee & Darren are joined by the mighty Jim Moon of Hypnobobs as they tackle such diverse subjects as crappy government delivery forms, Indiana Jones 5, Karl Urban's chicken neck, wedding food, Amy Jo Johnson again and the horror of Tang the Zingzilla...

And after a live Profanasaurus from our guest and a new shitty superhero, the three intrepid heroes flick through the pages of EC Comics homage film Creepshow. Will it stand up to a rewatch or is it just papier-mâché  waiting to be recycled?
