COMMENTARY CLUB - Minisode 061 - Top of the Pops Showdown 2

After recording the Zombie Creeping Flesh episode, it seemed like a good idea to keep on drinking and watch a Top of the Pops from November 1980 the same week as the film's release. And we had such a good time, we sampled another episode from 1981 for good measure!

COMMENTARY CLUB - Minisode 060 - Top of the Pops 80s Showdown

We thought we'd revisit a Top of the Pops from 1988 the week Big was released... and it didn't go so good. So we also had a look at an earlier episode from 1985 to right the balance!

COMMENTARY CLUB - New Year's Eve Special 2023!

For our New Year's podcast, we thought we'd watch an old Top of the Pops end of year special from the 1980s! And we had such fun - and we so *ahem* merry - we did another one from 1970s too! Best enjoyed after a wobble of bine or two...

ELDRITCH LIGHT ORCHESTRA - Flaxman Low Theme

A theme tune I wrote for readings of a series of ghost stories for my podcast From the Great Library of Dreams. Flaxman Low is credited with being the first occult detective in fiction, whose intriguing cases were chronicled by E and H Heron

ELDRITCH LIGHT ORCHESTRA - Silent Snow

A little ambient piece composed originally as a backing track for this year's Christmas special podcasts. Created and performed using  Analog Lab and the Microfreak synthesiser from Arturia. Photographs taken several winters ago and show fields and woods around Baydale Beck, and the Denes in Darlington.

ELDRITCH LIGHT ORCHESTRA - Dreamlands

Another ambient piece, this time created using Arturia's Pigments synth, a ticking clock, and some homebrewed feedback. Originally I intended this to be the backing for a reading of the famous poem by Edgar Allan Poe but though it would be shame to talk over it!

ELDRITCH LIGHT ORCHESTRA - Moonblink Luck

A hopefully relaxing little tune I created with an old Android app Ethereal Dialpad running into Ableton on the PC and drenched in reverbs and delay! Enjoy!

WHAT THE SCARE-CROW SAID by Nicholas Vachel Lindsay

Read and animated by Mr Jim Moon, folk horror drones from the Eldritch Light Orchestra

What the Scare-crow Said
by Nicholas Vachel Lindsay

The dim-winged spirits of the night
Do fear and serve me well.
They creep from out the hedges of
The garden where I dwell.

I wave my arms across the walk.
The troops obey the sign,
And bring me shimmering shadow-robes
And cups of cowslip-wine.

Then dig a treasure called the moon,
A very precious thing,
And keep it in the air for me
Because I am a King.

ELDRITCH LIGHT ORCHESTRA - At The Wailing Well

A little ambient theme for my forthcoming reading of the classic ghost story Wailing Well by MR James. It was composed and and performed using an Arturia Microbrute, with a VCOS2 FLute soft synth played on an Arturia softsynth. Plus tons of Valhalla delay!

COMMENTARY CLUB - Minisode 005 - Top of the Pops 1988
