BROADCAST ANNOUNCEMENT!

Hello folks, just a quick parish notice - this week's show will be a tad late thanks to some software problems caused by a Wordpress update (and as Wordpress is very popular for running podcasts quite a few other shows are also be affected too). However the episode is done and will go out as soon as we can get it up (oo-er missus) - hopefully by Tuesday, or hopefully before is Wordpress fixes the bug  in the update!

However while we're all here, the show list from the next month or so looks like this -

HYPNOGORIA 48 - Horror Last Year Part I : rounding up assorted prequels and sequels of note from 2016.

HYPNOGORIA 49 - Horror Last Year Part II: venturing beyond Hollywood to look at a selection of international horror movies

HYPNOGORIA 50 - Horror Last Year Part III: sampling some of my favourite horror flicks of last year

FROM THE GREAT LIBRARY OF DREAMS - The Man With the Roller - we turn to the works of EG Swain who we meet in our ghost stories for Christmas and hear another eerie tale from the little parish of Stoneground

Chun Li Vs Cinerama

Last night I ventured out of the blogosphere and into the podmos, with a guest appearance on the latest edition of Cinerama. Rather than the usual review run up, this was a special drunken commentary episode on the slice of movie magic that is Streetfighter: The Legend Of Chun Li... And you can hear the results here.... http://cinerama.podomatic.com//

Now I'll give you fair warning - this podcast contains much slurring, stuttering and garbled nonsense from myself which I can honestly only partially blame on the vagaries of Skype! And the strange hissing noises is me chainsmoking by the way! I would also strongly advise drinking heavily before listening.

In fact, I'd generally advocate getting hammered before just watching the movie - trust me you'll need an anaesthetic of some description!

But I would caution against drinking merlot and gin in the same evening as I did... unless you want to redecorate your bathroom red.

And finally I'd like to point out that this entire drunken debacle was all Paul from Chinstroker Vs Punter 's fault. It was his tweets that alerted us to this tottering mess of a movie. And furthermore, it was CvsP's excellent commentary for The Cannonball Run which led me to having several large G & Ts before the recording!

THIS IS THE NEWS!!!!!

As the navigation side bars on this blog are getting increasingly long, I thought it was high time to set up an alternative, and hopefully easier to navigate, archive of my ramblings.

So now besides the back catalogue of posts on here, you'll be able to find my old reviews over the main site in The Library. Over the next week or so, I'll be moving over my older scribblings and giving a few of the older entries a bit of a polish.

New reviews will still be appearing here first, of course!

In other news, you can now hear me delivering some spectacularly shoddy comedy horoscopes on the Monkey Island Radio Show. The show, which features an eclectic selection of tunes and assorted bobbins, goes out live on Thursdays evening 6 PM to 8 PM and is repeated Sunday afternoons 1 PM to 3 PM and you can listen online here.

The Library Is Now Open...

We've opened a section over at the main HYPNOGORIA site - The Library.

Here you'll find all the various short stories used in the site indexed. Plus any other scrawlings and scribbling we feel like posting.

The latest addition is William Hope Hodgson's classic tale The Hog featuring everyone's favourite occult detective Carnacki the Ghost Finder...

New Look!

As my reviews have been getting longer of late, I thought it was high time for a redesign. Hopefully the new layout will be alot easier on the old eyeballs!

The Devil's Coming

We've added a new tale of terror to the level of Hypnogoria which we are coming to think of as the Library.

Find it here -http://www.hypnogoria.com/html/devilscoming.html

This little story by G Septimus is a prequel to Arthur Miller's The Crucible. And if you're not familiar with this classic drama, I heartily recommend seeing or reading it. (Or just click the above link to read the Wikipedia summary).

It took Tom alot of messing about to get permission to reprint it on the site, and I got through a fair number of black chickens to get the illustration photo.... So we hope you enjoy it!

New Pages Alert!

The first of a fresh batch of pages have been added to HYPNOGORIA! And there's more to come very soon! Plus an existing page has gotten an upgrade.

Plus as it's Friday afternoon and I'm looking forward to a debauched weekend in Mancunia, I'll even give out a hint as to where the brand spanking new page is lurking - the answer's in an old book. Too cryptic? The link is in an circle...

And while I'm here... Although when I started this blog I said I wouldn't be posting dull IT related moaning, something has come up which I feel compelled to witter about. Recently here at Hypnogoria Towers, we got a new super fast computer. And as is the way of these things , the new beast came with Vista preloaded. So I've had a good play about with it and was pleased to see a few of my XP bugbears have been fixed. For example, when you go to the Add/Remove programs, the list of installed tat is actual there with none of XP's 'please wait while the list is populated' bollocks - usually at the speed of a pensioner thumbing through Yellow Pages and always gave me the impression the OS didn't actually know what the hell was installed on it.

So Vista thus far is scoring well in my book. But... which propeller-head gibbon decided that the logical place for 'Format' on the right click menu is next to 'Safely Remove hardware'? Yes, Mircosoft I'd love to accidentally erase my portable HD when trying to unplug it. Well done! Still I suppose we can take comfort from the fact that this piece of design tomfoolery implies that should Bill Gates ever hold the world to ransom with a doomsday machine, there will be a large, masterplan-foiling, red self destruct button clearly visible...

What else? Oh yeah, there's a review of The Incredible Hulk in the works which may get posted tomorrow, hangover permitting...

The Sepia Selection

Right, we now have a new line of designs based on sepia photographs from the site. See them here -http://www.hypnogoria.com/html/gallery-sepia.html

Plus we've added a couple of new designs to the Lucidity range and had a big reorganise of our shops. Plus you can now buy all our designs on t-shirts, mousepads, postcards and greetings cards. And don't forget with Zazzle you can customise products too!

And now we've got all the cocking about with the shops sorted we'll be back to adding new pages to the main site very soon! Honest!

Yet more new products

Annoucing the birth of HYPNOMUGS!

Not content with cards and t-shirts, we are now offering our designs on a range of mugs! So now you can take tea with Graf Orlock or brew up with the Lord of the Woods!

And you can choose from a range of diferent mug styles and colour schemes with the Customise buttons.

(For some reason, the galleries insist on showing the mugs side-on as a default view - either click the small inset picture at the bottom right or click to the whole image to go to the individual's mug page to see the designs properly.)
