In this show we travel back to the 1980s to look at a set of books all on things weird and wonderful. Popular children’s imprint Piccolo launched a range of slim but colourful books at the end of the 1970s. Aimed at younger readers, the Explorers series covered a wide array of educational subjects - animals, science, history, vehicles and so forth. However in 1980 they launched the Mysteries range, a set of six Explorer books which delved into stranger territory - Missing Treasures , Lost Cities, Sea Mysteries, Fabulous Beasts, Ghosts and Devils and Demons. All six volumes were collected together into an omnibus edition entitled the Piccolo Explorer Books of Mysteries…
